Perspective

My family name, Ramez, comes from Arabic and is derived from the word ramz رَمْز (symbol / emblem / gesture). It describes someone who speaks with the signs, mediates between symbols and meaning, or points to a deeper meaning.

The deeper I delve into my work—and thus, the deeper I delve into my own truth—the clearer it becomes to me that I, too, am always moving on the threshold between the invisible and the visible, between perception and form.

In the process, I have learned to trust my sensitivity and deep perceptive abilities and to work with them—whether in my art, during the process of a ritual tattoo, in attuning to the collective quality of time while creating my Somatic Yin Yoga classes, in one-on-one conversations as a counterpart who perceives the invisible threads and how they come together, who listens beyond what is said, or in my passion for essential oils and scent blends, individually tailored to the person’s constitution, growth, or movement that needs support.

For me, symbolic language is one that incorporates intuition, the body, and the invisible, without claiming to possess definitive knowledge. It can show us where something wants to grow and support us in navigating the flow of life with greater dignity.

Practice

In my work, I combine somatic, trauma-sensitive approaches with symbolic knowledge. I work cyclically, intuitively, and transparently, creating a brave and intimate space.

In the space I create, I want the unknown to have a place as an integral part of the process. I trust that mutual learning can take place when we allow ourselves to meet what want to move, without getting in its way through preconceived ideas.

My focus is on accompanying and holding transitions — those moments when we sense that something wants to be let go of, but we don’t yet know where it is leading us. In this in-between space, I see great potential for transformation: for moving more deeply into our own truth and, through that, into wholeness.

Through my own journey, I have learned to move from a state of almost constant outward orientation and the feeling of being disconnected from who I am and what I want, towards inhabiting more of myself, finding trust, and stepping into my own power — allowing myself to live a full, sensual, and creative life.

I am certified in Integrative Somatic and Trauma Therapy, having trained with, among others, Nnkem Ndefo, Stacy Haines, Manuela Mischke Reed, and Kai Cheng Thom. I was particularly drawn to approaches that situate somatic work within broader social and political contexts.

I have completed facilitator training in women’s circles and am certified in Somatic Yin Yoga with Annie Au. I have also studied Aroma Acupressure with Tiffany Carole and work with the combination of acupressure and essential oils, which can offer powerful support for different processes.

My work is also informed by Taoist and Tantric approaches, as well as by aspects of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Five Elements. I am currently deepening my study of biodynamic approaches and symbolic language with my mentor.

My academic background in Art and Cultural Education, with a focus on feminism, decoloniality, and media criticism, also shapes my perspective.

Like me, my work is always evolving and becoming.

Offerings

1:1 Sessions

Are you ready to go deeper, or are you moving through a transition where something no longer feels right, but you don’t yet know where it is leading you?

Are you longing for more clarity and a deeper connection to what you want and what feels true for you?

Maybe you already know what wants to change, but your nervous system doesn’t yet have the capacity to hold it?

You understand everything intellectually, but somehow it doesn’t land in your body — and therefore doesn’t translate into your everyday life?

Or do you want to allow more of yourself, but don’t know how, and there is a fear of being too much?

I work as a Somatic Practitioner with the nervous system and use symbolic knowledge as a map. I create a space where something can begin to move and find its way into the body.

Somatic Yin Yoga

Somatic Yin Yoga combines postures from Hatha Yoga with Taoist philosophy, the teachings of the Five Elements, and an awareness of the nervous system and our physiological processes in stress, trauma, and regulation.

I create my classes in resonance with the energetic quality of the time and the current energies of the week, supporting us in moving with the flow of life and listening to what our bodies need.

Yin Yoga offers a counterpoint to our Yang-oriented world and an opportunity to let go, to feel, and to come into a deeper practice of listening.
